We believe in community.
Founded in 2017, HomeBase is run by established female professionals with over eight years of experience in the international Barcelona community.
We believe in community - that means everything we do revolves around helping incoming families feel welcome and comfortable knowing their needs are in good hands. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond our services to make an effort to establish new families in the international community and becoming a friendly contact they can always count on, no matter how long they stay.

Mary DeVannsey
COMMUNITY MANAGER
Coming from a French-American background, Mary specialises in community outreach in Barcelona. Mary and her family have made several international moves across the world. They have lived in Paris, New Delhi, London, New Jersey and Barcelona. She knows firsthand how difficult the logistics can be when a family arrives in a new place. After spending years teaching English, Mary moved into a Customer Relations role for her design firm in Philadelphia. Her husband’s work brought them to Barcelona in 2014.
Her three children have attended Benjamin Franklin International School and the French Lycée. Joining the HomeBase team in 2018 has given Mary the opportunity to use her extensive experience as an expat to help others settle in seamlessly.

Ximena
PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER
Ximena was born and raised in Mexico City. She moved with her husband to Boston in 1997 where she continued her career in the service industry. She then moved to San Francisco for almost 20 years. A few years ago she came to Barcelona with her husband, three boys and their dog Moncho.
